What They Were Up Against
The client wanted to design a graduate programme that moved beyond traditional learning, building a dynamic, immersive journey to shape future leaders and skilled professionals. The vision was a structured yet flexible experience that equips graduates to thrive in today’s fast-evolving workplace.
Centred on the theme of learning agility, the programme focused on helping graduates learn, unlearn, and adapt quickly, developing the core skills needed to navigate challenges and seize emerging opportunities. Each session was designed to blend theory with practice, ensuring participants could immediately apply new insights, strengthen critical skills in real-world scenarios, and build confidence as they step into the complexities of a modern, fast-changing industry.
Where We Chose to Focus
Our discovery process revealed the importance of building the programme from the inside out, starting with Self and Personal Mastery before expanding into external factors such as Influencing Beyond Authority and the Fundamentals of Project Management. We recognised that true adaptability begins with self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal leadership.
To lay this foundation, the programme began with two self-insight sessions: an Enneagram debrief and a Strengthscope workshop. These sessions helped graduates deepen their understanding of themselves, identify their unique patterns of behaviour, and recognise the core strengths they already bring to the workplace.
By focusing on this foundation first, we ensured that the subsequent layers of the programme, such as Innovation Thinking, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking and Communication Skills, would be more impactful and sustainable. The aim was not only to help graduates transition smoothly into the world of work but also to empower them to take ownership of their growth and to develop the resilience needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.
How We Partnered for Impact
The learning journey was designed as a blended and experiential experience, combining digital, interactive, and reflective elements to cater to different learning preferences. Each module began with a short eLearning pre-reading session hosted on the client’s LMS platform, introducing key concepts and setting the scene for the in-person workshops that followed.
The in-person workshops were designed to be highly engaging and immersive, using gamified activities, group discussions, and storytelling to make learning relevant and memorable. Throughout the programme, we also facilitated group coaching sessions, which provided graduates with a reflective space to explore their inner work and personal growth goals.
These sessions were intentionally designed to help each participant clarify what they wanted to achieve by the end of the programme, whether that was improved confidence, clearer communication, or stronger problem-solving ability. This coaching element added depth to the learning experience, helping graduates translate knowledge into meaningful behavioural change.
At the close of the programme, we conducted a post-programme survey to gain insight into the graduates’ overall experience, perceived growth, and suggestions for improvement. The feedback helped us assess impact, measure shifts in confidence and readiness, and identify enhancements for future programme iterations.
What Shifted
They left the experience with a clear sense of ownership over their development, an increased capacity for problem-solving, and a stronger alignment with the organisation’s values. The programme also created a shared language of growth and self-leadership across the graduate cohort, which has continued to influence how they engage with peers, mentors, and leaders within and outside of the business.
The impact of the programme was visible not only in the graduates’ growth but also in the culture that began to form around learning. Graduates became more self-assured and confident in their abilities, often articulating how their perspectives and behaviours had evolved through the programme.
Success Enablers
The success of the programme stemmed from its holistic and integrated design. Starting the journey with the Enneagram and Strengthscope sessions created an immediate sense of personal relevance and psychological safety, while the combination of experiential workshops and coaching sustained engagement throughout the process.
The inside-out learning philosophy, starting with personal mastery and expanding toward leading work and change, created a logical and sustainable growth journey. The use of practical tools made learning tangible and transferable across different business contexts.
The structured yet flexible format also ensured that graduates could balance participation with their work responsibilities, while stakeholder involvement throughout the journey reinforced organisational commitment to their development.
